I will never starve in the Guildford Ethel Street Courtyard. The Paris Cafe is right next door; and I can just shut my boutique for a couple of minutes and pop out the front to James Street to the Guildford Town Bakery for a tasty pie or other delicacy.

John and Kelly, the bakers and owners of the GTB are also very easy going. I’m always looking for a new setting for my Instagram @winesandbooks posts, and this time (not a book, but my very own DVD!); they let me put the cricket documentary I made – “Ageless Warriors” DVD – and the renowned Margaret River Moss Wood wine – in front of their weekend wares.

It took me a while to set up the shot, and I thank Kelly and John for their patience and apologise if I got in the way of their eager customers – which I did… sorry guys…

There is no other word for it, I “scoffed” the chicken and vegetable pie. I have to go back again to savour this pie, not scoff it. Lots of vegetables, chunks of chicken and creamy sauce – the pastry is buttery and crumbly – delicious. I’ll be back this weekend for more – the lamb and rosemary pie has my name on it!
